About us

At our family run working farm, Mike and Martin Silvera have been growing and supplying potatoes and vegetables since 1990.

We opened our farm shop and café in 2006 and expanded the café in 2021.

Situated in the valley of the Lomond and Bishop hills, the café is perfectly located to allow you to sit and enjoy our freshly made food and coffees, while also taking in the views, including the take-offs and landings of planes and gliders at the nearby Scottish Gliding centre.

Keeping it local

When people visit they see us as we are – family run and part of the community.

Our carbon footprint is low – we keep everything as local as possible which also means it’s fresh.

Stocking all things Scottish

We love Scottish food and stock a diverse range. We also support our local creatives who supply us with art and crafts for our walls.

Charity work

We host an annual Charity ploughing match, with proceeds all going towards Marie Curie Cancer care.

Supporting our community

We like to support our local community in whatever is happening! We are especially committed to raising funds for CHAS, a charity that provides the only hospice services for children in Scotland.

Our second hand book shelf is as popular as ever!

Coffee, cake and a good book...

We have a big selection of second hands books which attracts lots of interest. There is always someone browsing through both fiction and non-fiction donations and looking for a bargain.

We have raised around £45,000 for our local children’s hospice CHAS with the support of our visiting ‘bookworms’!

“...come and help us reach our target of £50,000”
